1. Introduction
Relentless Software ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Fomli operates, how data is processed, and our commitment to protecting your personal information. Fomli is designed to help users eliminate digital distractions, block short-form video feeds (such as Reels, Shorts, and TikTok), restrict adult content, and enforce focus without collecting or harvesting personal user data.
2. Local Processing & Privacy First
Fomli operates under a strict local-first privacy architecture:
- On-Device Execution: All accessibility events, text checks, app blocking logic, and domain evaluations occur entirely on your local device.
- No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, store, transmit, or share your private messages, browsing history, contacts, credentials, or personal files.
- No External Servers: Fomli does not run background telemetry or personal analytics servers to track your activity across apps.
3. Android Accessibility Service API Usage
Fomli uses Android's AccessibilityService API (FocusGuardAccessibilityService) strictly to provide its core functionality as a distraction blocker and digital wellbeing utility.
- Purpose: The Accessibility Service is used solely to detect when a short-form video feed, restricted application, custom keyword, or adult web domain is displayed on your screen, allowing Fomli to instantly overlay a focus screen or redirect you away from the distraction.
- Data Handling: Screen contents and view hierarchy node data inspected by the service are evaluated in real time in sub-millisecond local memory and are immediately discarded.
- No Monitoring of Private Chats: The service is configured to bypass processing for allowed messaging, banking, utility, and music apps. It never logs, reads, or records private text messages or personal sensitive input.
4. Advertising & Third-Party SDKs (Google AdMob)
Fomli is provided free of charge and is supported by non-intrusive advertisements served through Google AdMob (including rewarded video ads used to unlock app features or bypass temporary focus locks).
What AdMob Collects
To serve ads and prevent ad fraud, the Google AdMob SDK may automatically collect certain device-level information, including:
- Device Identifiers: Advertising ID (AAID), unique device identifiers.
- Technical Data: IP address, device model, operating system version, mobile network provider, and language settings.
- Ad Interaction Data: Ad impressions, clicks, and diagnostic performance logs.
How AdMob Data Is Used
This technical data is processed directly by Google to deliver relevant ads, limit ad frequency, enforce fraud protection, and report aggregated ad metrics. You can manage or reset your Android Advertising ID via Settings > Google > Ads. For more details, visit Google's Privacy Policy.
5. App Permissions & Data Storage
- Accessibility Permission: Required to detect and block distracting UI elements and short-form feeds.
- Usage Stats Permission: Used solely to sync local screen time and app open metrics with Android's Digital Wellbeing.
- Local Database (SQLite): User preferences, streak counts, blocked domains, custom keywords, and allowlist configurations are saved locally on your phone and are deleted if you uninstall the app.
6. Data Security
We implement strict software design principles to protect your data. Because all core feature evaluations take place locally on your device, your personal activity remains isolated from external network access.
7. Children's Privacy
Fomli does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take immediate corrective measures.
